A research visa (RV) is given to Research Professors or Scholars. Visa is for a period of three years or for the duration of the research project,
whichever is earlier. The grant of Visa will be considered on a case to case basis. The process can take longer and no query will be entertained
during the process. Applicants are advised to apply 12 weeks in advance.
- Printout of the online application form duly signed.
- Passport valid for a minimum of 180 days with at least two blank pages.
- Two recent photographs (See Specifications).
- Submission of subject of research along with the application.
- Original admission letter of recognized university.(emails of admission letters will not be accepted)
- Evidence of financial resources.
- Fees (Visa fee, Consular surcharge, Service fee and any other applicable fee).
- Additional Form filled in and signed. If the applicant is a foreign national he/she needs to have a residential proof (Meldebescheinigung) from the German government for more than 1 years. The process can take longer.
Note: Any German document must be officially translated into English.
